Lift Up Your Lighters
This one’s for you and me, living out our dreams. We’re all right where we should be. Lift my arms out wide, I open my eyes. And now all I wanna see is a sky full of lighters, a sky full of lighters.
Whenever I hear this song by Eminem featuring Bruno Mars, my imagination takes me to the flower power time where the whole idea of holding up a lit lighter to a concert started. This mass event by the flower hippies became their show of appreciation towards the musician on stage. The following generations saw how cool of an idea it was and history is repeating itself, I guess—but with a technological touch of course. So, say hello to the Magic Lighter!
Instead of lighters, there came a time in live concerts history that the crowd held up their phones. It was pretty neat as well but for me, nothing will beat the soft, mellow, and serene kind of unity of the tiny flame specs created by the audience. Since societies change and the flower power’s movement had already brushed off of people, bringing a lighter to a concert is not so much a great idea nowadays. I’m guessing that’s the reason why cell phones were used as a replacement.
But through this application called Magic Lighter created by Cateater, we can still relive the 60′s Woodstock vibe even though there’s no real lighter in sight.
What To Expect From The App
Of course, there will be a lighter on your screen with a soft orange-y flame. The flame will follow each of your movement so when you tilt your device to the left, the flame will slant to the right and vice versa. If ever you’d want more choices when it comes to its design, then you’d have to download its premium version.
Here’s another thing about the app that got me quite stoked: you can blow out the flame! It was really awesome since I don’t really know how the app was able to do that so yeah, sue me for being overly excited about this feat. You can also kill the flame by tapping on it but where’s the fun in that?
As for me who have yet to grace a concert, I’m saving this app on my device for future use (wish me luck!) plus it’s a great app to make little kids go ga-ga! Okay, I freaked out when I blew the flame out too but you get my point already.
The Magic Lighter app is available for FREE in the AppStore.
